S. S. Badger Cruise 2026
Punch Drunk is planning another S.S. Badger Ukulele Cruise for Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
If you'd like to join us, buy your ticket for the Badger by calling 1-800-841-4243 and ask for "The Great Lake Getaway" cruise. The cost is $112 per person. The boat leaves Ludington, Michigan at 9:00 a.m. EDT and arrives in Manitowoc, Wisconsin at 12:00 noon CDT (4 hour crossing). Then after a two hour layover, the boat heads back to Ludington and arrives at 7:00 p.m. EDT.
We'll be playing Lake Shanties, and other songs all day long. Feel free to bring along your favorite songs to share.
The songbook is in the works, but here's the early draft of the
2026 Badger Cruise Songbook Supplement.
We will mostly be playing songs from these books:

These books are fairly large so you might want to put them on a tablet rather than printing them out.
Also, Download the Jon Benallack Appendix
And the Chuck Deyo Appendix

Here are some notes about the Badger Ukulele Cruise from Punch Drunk (John and Chuck):
- • You won't need to bring food on the boat. There are plenty of eating options on board.
- • We will probably find a spot to gather on the boat. Last time we spent most of the time in the port-side snack bar.
- • There are seats, so you won't need to bring a chair.
- • We'll go around the circle calling out songs from the songbooks. When it's your turn, you can pick a song to lead. Or you can pass.
- • You probably won't need a stand-up music stand, but a tabletop stand would be helpful.
- • If you are in Ludington the night before. We'll be at Stearns Park watching the sunset and jamming on the ukulele. Please join us. Sunset is at 8:43 pm EDT. Look for us near the north end of the park, probably around 8:00 pm EDT.
- •The Badger leaves at 9:00 am EDT, but you should plan on boarding around 8:00 am EDT
- •The Badger takes four hours to get to the other side of the lake. Then about an hour to unload and reload cars. We'll meet up with some folks from Wisconsin and play a few songs at the dock while the boat does its thing. Wisconsin is on Central Time.
- • John has about ten copies of the "2026 Badger Book" and ten copies of the "TV and Movie book" printed and spiral bound. They cost $35 for the pair to print and bind. You can pay John with cash or Venmo if you'd like a copy. When they are gone, they are gone. But I'm sure people will be happy to share. We are ukulele players and by nature, a friendly bunch.
- • If you are sensitive to motion sickness or just in case the waves are big that day, bringing along some Dramamine. It never hurts. The crew usually has some ginger gum to hand out as well. You might also want some motion sickness wrist bands.
